Chelmsford Hockey Club

Everyone welcome

Chelmsford Hockey Club is a large and friendly club that welcomes and caters for hockey players of all standards from an elite standard through to complete beginners. We have 15 regularly playing senior sides and a strong junior section, meaning there really is an opportunity for players of all levels to get involved.

Great facilities and social scene

We are based at Chelmer Park on Beehive Lane in Galleywood and have great facilities including the use of 2 astro turf pitches, quality changing facilities and a large clubhouse and bar where we hold regular social events throughout our season.

Great coaches

We also have great coaches throughout the club and this year have 2 GB Olympians (one form Rio and one from London and Beijing) coaching our ladies 1st team.

Playing opportunities

If you are looking to play then our club training sessions (for ages 13+ including adults, male and female) take place on Wednesday evenings (starting from 14th September) from 7.30pm. Training is split into different groups according to ability. Senior matches (including juniors aged 13+) take place on Saturdays. Junior training (and age group matches) from age 5+ take place on Sundays.

New members are welcome to train for several weeks before committing to pay to see if you like it!

We are planning to launch a 'pay and play’ session on Thursday nights from October where you can just turn up without any commitment and play fun and informal games of hockey with an optional trip to the pub afterwards!

We are also taking interest for a early evening week day training session for juniors who can’t make Sunday training sessions.
