Lee Nelson headlines Fling's Comedy Stage

Fling Festival returns to Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Saturday 6 July 2019 with its biggest Comedy line-up to date.

Created purely for adults, the Fling is like no other: a day where festival goers’ curiosity is encouraged and diversity in entertainment is celebrated with a bespoke mix of music, comedy, cabaret, adult crafting, dance workshops, sideshows, street food and much more.

Headlining this year’s Comedy Stage is the hugely popular, Lee Nelson. Not only is he the star of hit TV shows Well Funny People and Well Good Show, he also has five sell out tours to date and a host of appearances on Live at the Apollo.

Support comes from the hilarious Tony Law who will be previewing his Edinburgh Fringe set. Tony Law has sold out his Edinburgh Fringe shows 2011 — 2018, won numerous Chortle Awards, and makes regular appearances on Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Also joining the comedy line-up with her warm, witty and thought-provoking humour is the fantastic Lucy Porter. As well as being one of the most sought-after comedy writers in Britain, she can regularly be seen on Mock The Week, QI, and Room 101.

The remaining line-up includes Rob Deering, who is a regular performer at Latitude Festival, Camp Bestival and Green Man Festival as well as Charlie Baker, who you may recognise from shows The Last Leg, Harry Hill’s Teatime, and Comedy Central at the Comedy Store. Plus the MC for the day is Carl Donnelly.

This year also sees the first ‘Essex Comedian of the Year’ performance where local comedians battle it out on the day to be crowned the funniest guy or gal of the county.

On top of this, there is the return of all your Fling favourites. Expect to see Silent Disco, Bollywood Bling Tent, Claynation, Space Hopper Racing, and some exciting new additions including Live Art, Spoken Word and Circus Raj.

Tier 1 tickets have now sold out. Tier 2 tickets are now on sale from £28.50, available online via http://www.eventbrite.co.uk.
