'Stand Up Stand Up’ is coming to Chelmsford’s Civic Theatre

'Stand Up Stand Up’ is coming to Chelmsford’s Civic Theatre on Thursday 29 and Friday -30 June 2017 at 7.45pm.

‘Stand Up Stand Up’ is playwright’s Jim Cartwright’s, dark comedy that is equally hilarious and heartbreaking. A down on his luck comedian meets a bailiff who has secret show business dreams, but first the bailiff needs to overcome his lack of charm! Together the two form an unlikely alliance that leads to a rollercoaster adventure that neither of them expected. The play is ideal for those who love stand-up comedy but would like to experience the drama of a play.

Jim Cartwright is one of the UK’s most exciting and acclaimed playwrights whose work has been performed internationally to great acclaim. Several of his plays have been made into films, including ‘Little Voice’ starring Jane Horricks, ‘Strumpet’ and ‘Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise’, which were both directed by Danny Boyle.

A riveting night out’
