While the usual schedule is affected by festive bank holidays, residents are advised that only the Wednesday 24 December collection will remain unchanged. All other collections between 25 December and 16 January will move to alternative dates.
Key adjustments include:
Christmas Day (25 December) collections will move to Tuesday 30 December
Boxing Day (26 December) collections will move to Wednesday 31 December
New Year’s Day (1 January) collections will move to Tuesday 6 January
All subsequent collections will shift by several days, with some taking place on Saturdays.
The revised schedule ensures all households receive their collections with minimal disruption. Residents are encouraged to check their new dates carefully and present bins by 7am on the revised day.
Chelmsford City Council thanks residents for their cooperation and wishes the community a sustainable and enjoyable festive season.

You can also check your collection dates on the Chelmsford City Council website.
