Temperatures are set to drop below freezing, so Chelmsford City Council are asking anybody who sees or comes into contact with a person sleeping rough, to create an alert.
Alerts can be made on the StreetLink Website.
The StreetLink website encourages you to call 999 if the person sleeping rough is under 18, or to create an alert if the person is above 18.
Consider making an alert if somebody is:
• Sleeping in the open air
• About to bed down (sitting on/in or standing next to their bedding) in the open air
• Actually bedded down (such as on the streets, in tents, doorways, parks, bus shelters or encampments)
• In buildings or other places not designed for habitation (such as sheds, cars, stairwells, barns, car parks, derelict boats, and so on)
Create an Alert.
