A Day of Vintage Fun for all the Family

13/07/2017 About 1 minute
A record number of nostalgia-seeking families flocked to Cressing Temple Barns on 9 July for the HRCC Vintage Fair - raising money on behalf of Helen Rollason Cancer Charity. The annual event is one of the charity's flagship fundraisers and attracts visitors from around the region looking to enjoy a day of live entertainment, classic cars, Jive dancing, stalls and much more.

It was smiles all round as crowds reveled in the glorious sunshine while watching live music from The Harmonettes and The Kingsmen, as well as Jive dancing from LJ's Dancing and Foxy Rocks. Meanwhile children were kept entertained with a variety of fairground rides, face painting, balloons, ice creams, games and even pie throwing, courtesy of the UK Pie Party.

There was plenty of opportunity for shopping with independent traders selling a cornucopia of vintage clothing, crafts, jewellery, collectables, upcycled items, accessories and food. Hair and beauty experts, HairRaid Shelter, also proved popular, offering visitors a chance for a vintage make-over.

One of the major draws of the event was the vast selection of refreshment options on offer. Foodies were able to enjoy gastronomic treats from the likes of The Hog Shed, McCarthy's, Nonna's Kitchen, The Giggly Pig Company, Cheese & Pie Man and HRCC's very own pop-up tea room.

Kate Alden, Fundraising Manager for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, says: "It was fantastic to see so many people coming along to the Vintage Fair to enjoy themselves while supporting our charity. The fair has been a great success and looks set to have raised over £11,500, which will go towards supporting those affected by cancer in Essex, London and Hertfordshire. We would like to thank all of our visitors, stall holders and supporters for making it such a great event."
