Chelmsford is gearing up for an unforgettable August Bank Holiday as two huge British pop acts, McFly and Sugababes, have been confirmed for this year’s popular Chelmsford Summer Series at Central Park.
Sugababes will take the stage on Friday 28th August 2026, joined by special guests including Melanie C (DJ set) and iconic DJ Annie Mac. The following evening, on Saturday 29th August, pop-rock favourites McFly will headline the event, bringing their high-energy show back to Essex.
The announcements have generated huge excitement among fans across Essex and beyond. McFly — known for hits such as All About You, Star Girl, and Obviously — have strong local connections, with drummer Harry Judd born in Chelmsford and bassist Dougie Poynter hailing from nearby Corringham.
Sugababes, one of the most successful British girl groups of all time, continue to enjoy a major career resurgence and are expected to deliver a set packed with classics like Push the Button, About You Now, and Freak Like Me.
