Essex Police launched ‘Operation Harrier' in 2019 with an aim to protect vulnerable people from going missing, especially those who live with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
The operation uses GPS technology to create a safe zone for users. If the safe zone is breached family or carers will be alerted. It allows synchronised working between the police, families, carers, and adult social care whilst also reducing the impact of missing persons investigations on the police.
