Adam Pipe, Head of Roads Policing said “We have seen an increase in the number of arrests for these offences, compared to last month.
“As we head into the New Years weekend, we typically see a lot more cases of drink and drug driving.
“We will continue to actively patrol to arrest anyone who think it’s acceptable to get behind the wheel whilst over the limit.”
Police are asking for the public’s help with this campaign to ‘prevent, persuade and call the police’ on drink drivers over the Christmas period.
