SUZI QUATRO VISITS CHELMSFORD MUSEUM FOR THE ESSEX BOOK FESTIVAL

03/03/2018 About 1 minute Share article:
Suzi Quatro, the Detroit born, but Essex residing leather clad rocker, will be showcasing her softer side when she reads from her recently published collection of poetry and her debut novel, at Chelmsford Museum on Monday 19 March 2018, as part of the Essex Book Festival.

The 1970s rocker known for the monster hits 'Can The Can' and 'Devil Gate Drive', as well as appearing in the US show 'Happy Days', will be putting aside her Fender Precision bass guitar and leather catsuit, for an intimate recital of her revealing poems from her book 'Through My Eyes'.

Suzi, who has sold over 55 million albums, believes that the autobiographical poems are very raw and exposed, and reveal a deeper and more intimate side to her. The event will be a fantastic opportunity to see and hear the female pioneer of rock, who trailblazed the way for Joan Jett, Girlschool and KT Tunstall, in the very special and intimate surrounds of Chelmsford Museum.

Suzi will also be talking about her first novel, 'The Hurricane', which is set in the rock music world, with the lead character being a female guitarist in a band, who moves from America to the UK.

The museum's doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and there will be welcome drinks on arrival. At the end of the evening Suzi will be signing copies of her books, which will be available to buy on the night.

Tickets for An Evening with Suzi Quatro are priced £10, and are available from the Museum's website - http://www.chelmsford.gov.uk/museums
