Friday 2nd March - Annual General Meeting
Vicky Ford, our new Member of Parliament, will address us once we have completed AGM business. She will give her reflections on her time representing the constituency in Parliament from her victory in the general election to date.

Vicky Ford was elected as the Member of Parliament for Chelmsford in 2017. She is a member of the Science and Technology Select Committee and Chairs the All party Parliamentary Groups for Information Communication and Technology and for Rare Diseases. She also chairs the Conservative Backbench Policy Committee on Brexit.

Vicky was a Member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2017. She chaired the European Parliament Internal Market and Consumer Affairs Committee (IMCO). one of the most powerful economic committees of the Parliament. As well as spearheading digital policy and single market reforms to boost trade, she led the negotiations to end mobile roaming charges and changes to European gun laws after the Paris terrorist attacks. Vicky was ranked in the top 10 most influential MEPs in Europe by Politico magazine.

Chelmsford City Council is asking residents to take part in the annual Rocket O’Clock scheme. The scheme asks people to be considerate of others when holding their own firework displays.

The Adventure Castle play area in Hylands Park is now officially accredited by PiPA, also known as Planning Inclusive Play Areas.
Work is now officially underway on the county's first ever all-through school at Beaulieu in Chelmsford.

Construction on the new £34million school started following a ground-breaking ceremony at the site yesterday.
