
Leaden Roding, Essex – A 16-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were left with potentially life-threatening injuries after they were struck by a van while walking in Leaden Roding on Tuesday evening (28th April 2026).
The collision occurred on Stortford Road at approximately 6pm. Both pedestrians were taken to hospital following the incident.
Emergency services responded in significant numbers, with reports of multiple ambulances, Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) vehicles, a paramedic car, and air ambulances attending the scene.
Essex Police have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: “We attended a collision reportedly involving a van and two pedestrians in Stortford Road, Leaden Roding, at about 6pm on Tuesday 28 April. Both pedestrians — a 16-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man — sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.”
The driver of the van is believed to have stopped at the scene. No arrests have been reported at this time.
