
Emergency services were called to Stortford Road at around 6pm on Tuesday, April 28, after reports that two pedestrians had been involved in a collision with a van.
The pedestrians were a 16-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man. Essex Police have now confirmed that the teenage boy sadly died following the incident.
The 23-year-old man was also injured in the collision. His current condition has not yet been confirmed.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, with part of Stortford Road closed while officers carried out investigations and emergency treatment was provided.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
Essex Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
Leaden Roding is a small village in the Uttlesford district of Essex, with Stortford Road acting as a key route through the area towards Bishop’s Stortford and surrounding villages.
