What to expect at Riverside
A festive “winter wonderland” ice-skating experience: the rink decorated with twinkling lights, (simulated) falling snow and holiday tunes to give a Christmas-themed ambience.
Special skating sessions throughout weekends in December, and additional sessions during the school holidays.
Free skate hire included in entry price.
Skating aids for children and beginners: penguin, snowman, and polar bear aids — useful for younger or inexperienced skaters.
After skating, guests could relax and enjoy refreshments at one of the centre cafés (mezzanine or ground-floor).
Visit the official website to book.
Who It’s For & Experience
The event is suitable for a wide range — families with children, beginners eager to try skating (with aids), and more experienced skaters seeking a festive session. The themed decorations, music, and signage of a “winter wonderland” helps deliver a Christmas-special atmosphere beyond a standard ice rink session. It's a fun, family-friendly holiday attraction — ideal for those in and around Chelmsford.
