This year's challenge builds on last season's success, where 20 intrepid walkers collectively generated £1,400 in vital funds. "Our Walking Challenge isn't just about the miles—it's about forging connections, embracing the fresh sea air, and turning every step into support for the families and young people we serve," said a Popcorn Community spokesperson. "Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply up for a festive stroll with purpose, we welcome you to lace up your boots and join us in making a difference."
The route kicks off at 9:00 a.m. from the Coast Road Car Park, weaving through diverse terrains including sandy beaches, muddy paths, grassy sea walls, and brief road stretches. Expect breathtaking views of oyster farms, potential seal sightings, and a detour around a collapsed sea wall for safety. A support vehicle will be stationed at the halfway point for those needing a lift back, ensuring accessibility for all fitness levels. Festive flair is encouraged—think Santa hats and holiday cheer amid the winter chill.
