A murder investigation has been launched after a 21-year-old man died following an assault in Central Park, Chelmsford.
Emergency services were called to the park at around 7pm on Friday, 12th June, after reports of an assault. Despite the efforts of paramedics and police officers who arrived at the scene within minutes, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Essex Police have confirmed that his family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
According to Essex Police, officers were led to an address in Auckland Close, Chelmsford, where three arrests were made. The suspects, aged 14, 17 and 18, all from Chelmsford, remain in police custody on suspicion of murder while enquiries continue.
Police have stated that they are not currently seeking any additional suspects and do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the wider public. However, investigators continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
