
The collision happened on Broomfield Road, at the junction with the Ridge Valley traffic lights, at around 6am on Tuesday 1 September.
Police have confirmed that the e-bike rider sustained serious injuries and does not remember the collision taking place.
The incident involved the e-bike and another vehicle.
Police appeal for witnesses and footage
Essex Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or other footage, to contact officers.
Anyone providing information is asked to quote incident 147 of 1 September.
Information can be submitted through the Essex Police website or via the force's online Live Chat service, which operates 24 hours a day.
Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
Rider left unable to remember collision
The rider's injuries have been described by police as serious.
Officers have also confirmed that the rider is unable to remember the collision, making information from witnesses or recorded footage particularly important as investigators work to establish exactly what happened.
No further details about the other vehicle or the circumstances leading up to the collision have yet been released.
The police investigation remains ongoing.
